Homeopathy has been my Life Changer

Homeopathy has been my Life Changer
I now have energy to meet up with friends

Names have been changed for confidentiality reasons.
This is the story of someone who took part in my Chronic Fatigue (CFS) Study.

Like most people who have CFS Linda found that she had the following symptoms:-

Linda told me that she wouldn’t arrange too much at weekends in case she became over tired and to cope with life she felt the need to hibernate. “I feel I can’t cope if there is too much going on”.

Linda wasn’t confident and would stress and worry about anything that might be going on in her life which would cause her great angst which could sometimes lead to a bout of depression.

During the last six months as Linda’s case unfolded, I selected different remedies to match her presenting picture at the time.  She is now able to cope with life’s ups and downs and in the last month has dealt with something that she would normally have found very upsetting and difficult to deal with but she took it all in her stride.

Linda has more energy to do things at weekends and now makes arrangements to meet up with friends. She still experiences some anxiety but it is greatly reduced and we are working on reducing this even further. She also finds waking up in the mornings much easier and one morning even did housework before leaving for work.

If some of this sounds like you and you would like more energy or you may have even been diagnosed with CFS/ME please feel free to contact me to see how I may be able to help you using homeopathy.  I offer a FREE 15 minute consultation which is a great opportunity to find out more and whether it is for you or not.

The magic of homeopathy & another happy customer

Feeling happy again.

I received a lovely testimonial yesterday and I have included this below.

Some of my patients ask me about my “magic pills” and whether I can help them with a certain problem. I will always answer yes because with homeopathy I treat the totality of symptoms and the person holistically. There really is no magic involved. It is my patients’ bodies responding to the chosen remedy, gently nudging it back into balance and good health. They might think it’s magic because of the transformation they go through but there really is a lot of science and philosophy behind the prescribing which took me four years to learn and as a homeopath I am continually learning and expanding my knowledge.   Below is the testimonial.

“I visited Tracey after experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. I was constantly crying and experienced a couple of panic attacks. Having gone through a breakdown before, I was worried I was going in the same direction but didn’t want to go back to using anti-depressants as they tend to mask the problem and the side effects can be unpleasant. I was slightly skeptical but desperate to feel more myself again. Tracey spent a long time during the consultation and was very easy to open up to and discuss matters. Within a day or two of taking the prescribed remedy (just 3 pillules) I was feeling like I was coping better. Since then I have had a follow up with the same remedy prescribed. Colleagues at work have noticed I’m much more confident at work and I had a comment recently asking if I’d done something different as I looked amazing. I feel emotionally and physically so much better and am even sleeping better. Thank you Tracey”

Your Time to Shine

Your time to shine

The other evening I was invited to give a talk on the menopause to approximately 30 women.

After introducing myself I wanted to know how they regarded the menopause so I asked for a show of hands of those who viewed it negatively and those that embraced it?   I wasn’t surprised to discover that almost everyone in the room viewed it as a negative experience and stage of their life.

This is hardly surprising if we consider the symptoms that women experience when they are going through this stage of their life. There are a whole host of symptoms that will be thrown at us as our bodies adjust to the fluctuating hormones.

Thankfully not everyone will experience them but people usually report experiencing at least one or two of the symptoms such as hot flushes, anxieties, mood swings, digestive disturbances, insomnia, feeling bloated, weight gain, migraines/headaches and even memory loss/brain fog.

Then we also have the emotional side of the menopause and some of the things I regularly hear are:-

“I keep thinking back to when I was young and newly married” – this is normally around the time when children are fleeing the nest.

“I feel like there’s no one to talk to” – they might feel they no longer have anything in common with their partner.

“I really can’t face getting out of bed in the morning” – they might feel it’s the end of the road for them.

“I feel tearful and alone” – the house feels empty.

“I feel old, unattractive and afraid my husband will go off me” – fear of ageing.

All these negative thoughts and emotions can start to affect people’s lives and people can find themselves in a downward spiral.

I really enjoy encouraging and inspiring women to look at this chapter in their life as new and exciting.  It’s a time to start looking forward, it’s a new dawn and your time to shine.   Time to rediscover who you are, do the things that you never had time to do before the kids came along, e.g. take dance classes, cookery classes, meet up with friends, get to know your partner again, in fact anything that takes your fancy.

I have a toolbox of over 3,000 homeopathic remedies to use and love supporting women who are going through the menopause.   If you would like to find out more about how I can help you using homeopathy which is a safe , gentle and non-toxic form of medicine please feel free to contact me for a no obligation chat.

It really is your time to shine.

When a Gut Feeling makes you feel unwell

Brain & Gut Connection
Brain & Gut Connection

Our emotions play a big role in gastro intestinal disorders and much research has been done over the connection between the brain and gut and how closely they interact with each other. We’ve all experienced that feeling of butterflies in our stomach when we are excited or apprehensive about a certain situation, this is because a big part of our emotions are more than likely influenced by the nerves in our gut.  Our brain and gut are communicating with each other all the time.

Given how closely the gut and brain interact, it has become clear that emotional and psychosocial factors can trigger symptoms in the gut. This is especially true in cases when the gut is acting up and there’s no obvious physical cause for example with symptoms of IBS, Chrohns, Colitis.

If you have IBS then you will be familiar with the symptoms that can sometimes make your life a misery. The symptoms range from abdominal cramps, bloating, diarrhoea or constipation.

As a homeopath when I treat someone with IBS or any gastro intestinal disorder, I discuss everything with you; when your symptoms are worse, if anything makes them better and together we look at triggers, diet, lifestyle or things that have happened to you in the past and any history of taking anti-biotics.

I then work on your case to find a remedy based on you as a person and your IBS symptoms. By taking this approach and trying to find the root cause it is my aim to help improve your symptoms.

If you would like to find out more or to have a chat to see how I may be able to help you with any symptoms you may be experiencing then please contact me  for a free no obligation chat.

It’s November – that can only mean one thing

Yes, it’s “Movember” the month when men grow moustaches to raise money for the Movember Foundation.

We are all aware of how serious ‘man ‘flu’ can be and how a little cold can turn a big strong man to give in to his cold. It’s funny how ‘man ‘flu’ seems to have become a little bit of a standing joke amongst both sexes, but on a more serious note, if men suspect something is wrong they will generally keep this to themselves, not even sharing their health concerns with their partners.

Men are traditionally seen as strong, taking care of things and for some, they see illness as a weakness. They put their families, work life, careers and finances first but sometimes this can be to the detriment of their health. They ignore things that they should get checked out or at least give attention to, some have a tendency to bottle things up, especially worries, which in turn can lead to stress, anxiety, depression or even sickness, disease and in severe cases even suicide.

It is well documented that men are more likely to ignore a health problem when it occurs and according to the Movember Foundation, the state of men’s health is in crisis. Men experience longer-term health issues than women and die on average six years earlier. They state that poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute – shocking statistics.

The Movember Foundation’s aim is to stop men dying too young and it hopes by 2030 to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.

If you are worried about the health of the man in your life or you are a man and are worried about something please visit your GP or alternatively if you are experiencing anything I can help with please contact me even if for a free 15 minute consultation.

Good luck to all the men who are growing a moustache raising money for this great cause.

Chronic Fatigue / ME

Chronic Fatigue / ME
Chronic Fatigue / ME
Chronic Fatigue / ME

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (post viral fatigue syndrome or myalgic encephalitis ME) like it’s name suggests causes extreme fatigue and exhaustion for anyone living with this condition.   No amount of sleep or rest makes the exhaustion and other related symptoms disappear. However, if you have ever experienced chronic fatigue / ME or know someone who has you will know that it is much more than that.

An estimated 250,000 people in the UK are affected by this debilitating condition. The cause is unknown, although it has been suggested that there are links with people who have had either a viral infection such as glandular fever or a gastrointestinal viral infection earlier in their life.

Most people suffering from ME will experience many symptoms, ranging from joint pain, muscle weakness, migraines, insomnia, memory loss, food intolerances, anxiety and depression. Some people, visit their GPs time and time again but with no joy. The reason for this is should your GP carry out tests, in most cases, results come back negative and this is why living with ME is so difficult for people. Without any positive test results GPs cannot prescribe medication, although in moderate and severe cases some prescribe anti-depressants which of course produce side effects, thus adding to the problem.

Another aspect of having chronic fatigue / ME is it disrupts people’s lives, they find themselves taking lots of days off sick and social arrangements are cancelled at the last minute, not because they want to but because they just do not feel well enough. In very severe cases people don’t even leave their homes. This in turn causes anxiety. So this debilitating condition seeps into people’s lives on so many levels, it is a vicious circle and some people have lived with this condition for over 40 years.

When I see people for the first time, they like to tell me what they have, they give me a “label”. They feel that having a label for their condition means they know what they are up against and what they are dealing with.

As a homeopath I don’t actually treat “disease labels” I treat each person individually and treat what I see at the time. I take a detailed medical history and together we invariably notice links of when they started to become unwell.  Using homeopathy I work with you to heal from within using a gentle, non-toxic, chemical free and safe form of medicine.

I am currently doing a homeopathic study on Chronic Fatigue/ME and am looking for 5-10 participants to take part.  If you are interested in taking part please contact me as soon as possible to receive more details. The application phase will close on 30 November but spaces may fill up before then due to popularity.

Help I’m so stressed out. . .

Are you living with Chronic Stress?
Are you living with Chronic Stress?

It seems like there is so much to do and so little time.

Most of us experience some form of stress during our lives but if you experience any of the following on a long-term basis you could actually be suffering from chronic stress: poor sleep, anxiety, depression, sugar or caffeine cravings, self destructive behaviour.

But did you know that living with continuous high levels of stress can cause further damage such as adrenal fatigue, food intolerances, intestinal infections, infertility, inflammation and general hormone imbalance.

Living with chronic stress means there is a constant surge of hormones like cortisol and adrenaline causing blood sugar to rise. Our bodies were only designed to produce these hormones for short periods of time, but with chronic stress it means it is always at work and our adrenal glands aren’t producing other important hormones such as DHEA, aldosterone, testosterone, oestrogens and progesterone’s.

The long term effects of over production of Cortisol can lead to silent killers such as type II diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, not to mention irregular menstrual cycles, worsening PMS symptoms, infertility and skin problems.

If you have been suffering from any of the above symptoms for a while then you should consider adrenal fatigue as the culprit.

Homeopathic treatment can help anyone living with chronic stress and can help to rebalance hormone production. Please contact me for a free no obligation chat if you would like to find out more.

Moody Teenager or something more?

Today’s teenagers are under more pressure than ever before and sadly as a result more and more are experiencing anxiety and depression.

Teenage years are a time of transition and change and as a result some teenagers can doubt themselves and wonder where they fit in. There is the constant exposure to social media showing pictures of how they should look, what they should weigh and what they should wear, add that to the pressure of taking exams it is hardly surprising that today’s teenagers may end up anxious, depressed and a little bit lost.

Signs of anxiety and depression can go unnoticed, especially as all teenagers go through growing pains and moodiness but some of the signs to look out for are:-

  • Sadness and frequent crying
  • Changes in eating and sleeping habits
  • Self loathing about their appearance
  • Loss of interest in activities that they once enjoyed
  • Withdrawal from friends and family
  • Restlessness and agitation

If you are worried about your teenage son or daughter and would like to talk to me for a free 15 minute consultation to see how homeopathy may be able to help them please contact me.

Tears of a Clown – Depression and hiding behind a smile

tears-of-a-clown“Now if there’s a smile on my face
It’s only there trying to fool the public”

The lyrics of the song Tears of a Clown seem to sum up how some people dealing with anxiety and depression learn to conceal their feelings from loved ones, friends and work colleagues.

On the outside it might appear that they are coping and doing every day things normally but underneath the brave face they are suffering. Their symptoms can range from low self-esteem, panic attacks, high anxiety and insomnia to name just a few. Behind that smile they can often be feeling ashamed and worthless.

Many comedians hide behind a persona and mask, for example, Ruby Wax, Stephen Fry and David Walliams who all have a history of depression.

Hiding our true feelings everyday takes its toll and eventually compounds the pressure and the longer it continues the harder it can be to recover.

If you recognise any of the above, homeopathy may be able to help you. Using homeopathy I work with you to heal from within using a gentle, non-toxic, chemical free and safe form of medicine.   Please feel free to contact me.  I offer a free 15 minute consultation to anyone who might be interested in finding out whether homeopathy can help them.
