What is hypnotherapy?

It is a form of therapy that helps people make positive changes to their life in a relatively short period of time. It uses the power of suggestion to encourage positive change. I use relaxation techniques to help you reach a state where the conscious part of your mind is relaxed and your subconscious part is more open to suggestion. This helps and enables you to make the changes you are looking for.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy is especially helpful for habit-breaking, stress-related and anxiety issues, confidence issues, fears and phobias.

How does it work?

Hypnosis or trance is simply a state of focused attention. It is a naturally occurring state we all experience frequently throughout the day. If you have ever driven home and realised you’ve no recollection of the journey, or you have been engrossed in an activity and not noticed time passing, you have experienced trance.

It’s a little like daydreaming and you can often hear everything that is being said, hear other noises from outside or drift off with your own thoughts whilst in a deeply relaxed state.
During a session, you are guided towards a natural state of relaxation so you can experience trance for longer. This state of deep relaxation helps you make the changes you want.

Can I get stuck in a trance?

No – when in trance, you’ll be able to hear other sounds and movement around you. You can bring yourself back to the present moment and out of trance at any time you want to.

Tracey is amazing I suffer with anxiety which controlled a lot of my life, however after a few sessions of hypnotherapy I have now been able to go out more with my friends and I have even booked to go to Australia for a month which I would never have done before. What type of hypnotherapy do you offer?

I combine hypnotherapy with some NLP techniques. Provided you are willing to make changes to the way you think, it can be highly effective in: relieving the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression; improving sleep; and eliminating unwanted habits and behaviours.
It can help you find an easier way to cope with modern life and become the person you want to be. It enables you to make the best choices for you and to harness the power of your subconscious mind to achieve your preferred future.

What happens during the session?

We will have a welcome chat where you can ask questions and I will get you feeling comfortable.

I will also ask some questions about your lifestyle, and general health. We’ll talk though how our minds work and how change happens when we really want it to.

I will then guide you into a relaxed state of hypnosis. I may also combine some NLP techniques during the session, towards the end of the session you will gradually be brought out of hypnosis.

At the end of each session, you should feel refreshed and more positive to begin moving towards what it is you want to achieve and taking control of your future.

How long do the sessions last?

Each session will last 60 minutes.
 The exception is the quit smoking session which is longer, usually 2 hours.

How many sessions will I need?

Change can happen relatively quickly and depends on what it is you want, but we can determine how many sessions you will need when you book a Free 20 minute call or after your first session.

Does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnosis has the capacity to work for most people but some are more susceptible to suggestion than others. Being fully committed to the process and feeling that you can trust your hypnotherapist is key. It’s also important to keep an open mind, as any scepticism may subconsciously dampen your susceptibility.

Does hypnotherapy work online?

Yes, all my sessions are on-line. It eliminates travel time and allow you to feel more comfortable at home.

How many sessions will I need?

Each person is unique so sessions required will vary from person to person and depends on what you want to achieve. In most cases change happens fast.
