I had a black dog

This week is World Mental Health Week, and I am going to be writing a daily blog about the different types of depression and how they can affect any one of us at any time in our life.

A few years ago, Matthew Johnston, a writer and illustrator produced, for the World Health Organisation, a video called I had a Black Dog to show the signs and effects of depression. It was designed to encourage people with depression to seek out help and support.

It was in fact Winston Churchill who popularized the phrase Black Dog to describe his bouts of depression.   As Matthew rightly says The Black Dog is an equal opportunity mongrel and there are many varying breeds. It can cast it’s shadow over any one of us at any time. We should always be aware that everyone we meet is fighting a battle of some sort.

Homeopathy is a gentle, non-toxic, chemical free and safe form of medicine. Please feel free to contact me to see if I may be able to help you if you are experiencing any of the above feelings.
